To Fall is not to fail, but...

Dropping breadcrumbs
Pieces of yourself leading the way back
To the place once known as home
-Now burned with your starry glare of demons
Searching for the answer folded up inside
Torn apart (pieced together with a child's purple glue stick)
-You ate those once
Ah, and it was only mere child's play
And yet you lost yourself to the brevity of it all
And longed for more, the mirage of becomingness
Painting the blinds onto your eyes for the shielded effect
Guarding the outlet to the soul which is really nonexistent
Running the way to unrequited questions
Falling once, which was enough for the lifetime created
Leaving the trail of tears as remembrance floods into your veins
The words spoken are the poison; your poison
Oh the way home has been burned-you lit the match
The charred remains blow in the thoughts (thoughts otherwise known as memories)
And the old man said to remember
To remember
(Old man, show me)
Remember
To fall is not to fail, but to forget to rise is death

Hmm...thought provoking as usual...bits n pieces remind me of the Hansel and Gretel story...u knw how they leave the trail of crumbs to get back home ...but their evil stepmother has made their home hell n all that....n is the old man ..their father?!...i wonder!

I read this 5 times to understand. That was 2 days ago. I read it thrice again today. U know, reading this poem backwards will help readers understand faster ;)
hmm.. wise words the old man said. But did he realize that fact when he was young?

I completely love the way you write so descriptively. The overall essence is so intricately explained. Keep going strong!
